Connecting Hearts and Helping Hands

Building a better future through compassion and service to those in need.

Testimony 1.JPG
As a lifelong resident of Terre Blanche and a mother of five, I am deeply grateful for the presence of the school established by Bread of the World Commission in our community. When I was a child, there were no schools in the area, so I never had the opportunity to learn to read or write.

Today, my children attend the very school that now stands in our village—an opportunity I never had. I thank God that their future will be different from mine. May the Lord bless Bread of the World Commission and everyone who supports the school and its mission in Terre Blanche.

I serve as a deacon at Sanctification Church of Terre Blanche, but my journey here is a testimony to God’s grace. In my younger years, I was part of a Seventh-day Adventist church, but I didn’t truly understand the Gospel. Without that understanding, I eventually drifted away and gave myself over to the pleasures of the world. Though I was married, I lived a life marked by adultery and drunkenness, causing deep pain and hardship for my wife and home.

But everything changed when the pastor of Sanctification Church began sharing the Gospel with me—consistently and without judgment. Over time, the truth of Christ’s love broke through, and I surrendered my life to Him. Since that day, I have never been the same.

For the past four years, I have served faithfully in the church and in our community. By God’s power, I have been delivered from the bondage of addiction and unfaithfulness. Today, I am a new man—devoted to my wife, my church, and above all, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

"Because of the school, all five of my children have received the education we once only dreamed of."

I’m a proud parent of five children who currently attend the Marie Thérèse Jean-Pierre School in Terre Blanche, Haiti. Years ago, children in our community had very few opportunities to go to school. There were no schools nearby, and many parents—myself included—could not afford to send our children to schools in other towns.

That changed when Bread of the World Commission established a school in our village. For the past twelve years, this school has provided free, quality education to hundreds of children in our community.

Thanks to this incredible gift, all of my children have been able to attend school, grow in knowledge, and dream of a better future. We are grateful beyond words for what this school has meant—not just for our family, but for the entire community of Terre Blanche.
